Senior Jarrett Wagner drove in four runs on two hits to lead Stratford past Cane Bay 7-4 on Wednesday night. Wagner doubled in the third inning, scoring two runs, and hit a home run to right field in the fifth inning, driving in another two.
The righty also struck out 11 batters on the day while walking only one to earn the win over the Cobras. The Knights are up 2-0 in the series and look for the sweep Friday night at home.
Lucas Kline homered to center field, his second in consecutive games, to tie the game at one in the top of the second.
Caleb Lott came on in relief to pitch the seventh inning for the Knights.
Stratford amassed 10 hits in the game. Wagner and Kline were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected two hits.
The Knights and Cobras wrap up the series Friday at home. First pitch is scheduled for 6:30 PM at Stratford.
