Lianne Cotto collected three hits in four at bats, as Stratford defeated James Island 9-5 on Thursday. L.Cotto doubled in the sixth inning, singled in the first inning, and singled in the third inning.

The Knights got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Ilianexis Cotto tripled down the right field line, and Lianne Cotto singled to right field, each scoring one run.

A double by Julianne Jashienski, and a single by Katie Bond helped Stratford extend their early lead in the third.

The Knights made the score 9-5 in the bottom of the sixth after Olivia Wyatt singled, scoring one run, Lianne Cotto doubled, scoring two runs, and an error scored one run.

Clemson Byrd led things off in the circle for Stratford. The hurler surrendered 10 hits and three runs over four and two-thirds innings, striking out three and walking one. Bond appeared in relief for the Knights.

Stratford accumulated 14 hits in the game. Jayden Sizemore, L.Cotto, I. Cotto, Kinsley Bass, and Jashienski each collected multiple hits for the Knights.
