Nexton would like to give a huge THANK YOU to our NURSES!!! Nurse Christy and Brittany are absolutely amazing and have been such a strong team for Nexton. We appreciate all of their hard work and dedication to our students!!! Happy Nurses' Week!!!

Field day is right around the corner, May 27th will be 3rd-5th grade and May 28th will be K-2nd grade. There will be plenty of water games and fun competitive games for the students to all enjoy! We are looking for parent volunteers to help run game stations with our special area crew. Please be on the lookout for a volunteer signup sheet. These will be posted on the Nexton Elementary Facebook page, as well as the Nexton PTA Facebook page. More information to come in the upcoming weeks.

DO YOU KNOW WHAT TODAY IS???? It's Principal's Day!!! Dr. Hoots is our "fearless leader", who has been a staple of Nexton Elementary for 6 years. It is such a blessing to have a principal who is compassionate, empowering, and a servant-leader. We don't think that anyone can say "Nexton Elementary" without thinking of Dr. Hoots. The lasting impact that she has made at our school will be seen for decades to come. Thank You and Love You Dr. Hoots!!!!

This morning was the BCSD Teacher of the Year Breakfast at Trident Technical College. Nexton Elementary is still so proud of Mrs. Ardis for being the 2024-2025 Teacher of the Year and representing our school in Teacher Forum for the next two years!!!!

Administrative Professionals Day was on Wednesday, but we are Nexton and "We Finish Strong"!!! SOOOOOOO........Today, Nexton surprised our wonderful ladies with some gifts and goodies to show how much we love them. We can not thank them enough because they truly keep the school moving forward and each one of them is such an important piece of the Nexton Elementary puzzle. We Love You and Thank You!!! Nexton Elementary would love to thank Halls Chophouse Nexton for hosting our Guys In Ties Club!!! This has become an annual event and is always the perfect ending of the year for our club. These young men were so respectful and represented Nexton Elementary very well. Thank You Halls Chophouse Nexton, Mr. Cummings, Coach Till, and Coach Jackson for being such great supporters of our Guys in Ties !!!!

Hey Explorers: Just a reminder that our Spring Fling is this Friday April 25th from 5:00-7:00pm. It is hosted by our wonderful PTA!!!! SUCH A PROUD MOMENT!!!! One of our awesome students was chosen for the Turnaround Award. She has had an amazing 4th grade and has demonstrated what it means to be a Nexton Explorer and follow the B.L.A.S.T. expectations!!! Congratulations Ariyanna James!!!! Spring has sprung! We hope all our students have a safe and fun spring break! Students will return to school April 21.

Happy Assistant Principal Week to our AMAZING Assistant Principal Mr. J (Jashienski). In fact, Mrs. Barnes class surprised him today with a "Nacho Average AP" poster and some of his favorite snacks. He is definitely loved here (with or without hair) and we can't imagine Nexton Elementary without him.

Hello Explorers, In the Wednesday Folders, each student was given a Spring Break Academic Challenge packet. For every student that completes the packet, they will receive a wonderful prize/treat. This is not mandatory, but we love to give parents the opportunities to work with their children to continue to build upon the educational partnership. Parents are a valuable piece of academic success of their child and working together will be so beneficial for them. This is due by Wednesday, April 23rd. Nexton Explorers participated in a Kindness BINGO challenge. Students spend the entire month performing random acts of kindness. Students received a prize from their School Counselors. Way to go Explorers, keep spreading KINDNESS.

On Monday, we have a Berkeley County School District Legacy visit Nexton. Mr. Willis Sanders stopped by Guys In Ties to speak to the young men about what it takes to be a leader in and outside of the classroom. Mr. Sanders spent 40 years in education in Berkeley County. Each student received a signed copy of his artwork!! Thank You Mr. Sanders for visiting our school!!!!!
