Students in Ms. Klein's AP Human Geography class kicked off their next unit with a Popcorn Population Party! Students assumed roles as the honored guests of a World Population and Health Conference. Each student became a citizen of a different country with unique challenges within the context of population and public health. Students had to mingle and discuss the population and public health challenges faced by other conference attendees in their respective countries. This activity provided students with a content preview for the upcoming unit and the opportunity to generate background knowledge.
Of course, you can't have a party without food, so students snacked on popcorn as they mingled! Students sampled everything from kettle corn to smoked gouda popcorn to the crowd favorite dill pickle flavored popcorn! Trust us, it's good!

Superintendent Dixon had a great time mixing and mingling with students and parents from Berkeley High's feeder pattern at Alien Cow in Moncks Corner.
